Former UFC heavyweight fighter Brendan Schaub has credited Dana White for the way he handled the recent slap incident with his wife. A video of White and his wife of 26 years, Anne, slapping each other on New Year's Eve recently went viral on social media.

White immediately issued an apology for the same, admitting to being heavily intoxicated during the episode. The UFC head honcho also emphasized that he wasn't trying to blame the incident on alcohol and believed that he deserved every criticism that would come his way. White said in a statement to TMZ:

“There was definitely a lot of alcohol involved, but that’s no excuse. I literally am making no excuses for this at all. It’s never happened before. It’s the first time that it’s ever happened, and people are going to say what they’re going to say. It is what it is, and whatever people do say is deserved. I deserve it. It happened. I don’t know why it happened."

Regardless of everything else, Brendan Schaub believes that Dana White handled the entire incident "the right way." The TUF alum wrote on Twitter:

"All jokes aside. Handled it the right way."

"Me and my wife are cool" - Dana White claims to be most concerned about his kids

Dana White has previously stated that there's no bouncing back from hitting a woman. It remains to be seen whether the owner of the largest MMA promotion in the world will be able to wash his image clean after the recent fiasco.

However, it isn't his legacy that is bothering White the most, as he makes headlines for the wrong reason. The UFC head honcho now claims to be most concerned about his kids, to whom he and his wife have already apologized to. The 53-year-old also claimed to have sorted things out with his wife. White further told TMZ:

"My legacy and all this other stuff with work doesn’t mean anything to me. It’s all about your family. It’s about your wife and kids. This situation, too, everybody’s going to have an opinion. We’re just worried about our family and focused on our kids right now. But me and my wife are cool, we’re good.”
