Dana White opened up about the punishment he'll be facing for a video being released of him slapping his wife at a nightclub on New Year's Eve.

White appeared at the UFC Vegas 67 media day and addressed the incident with his wife as well as any reprocussions from what happened. He mentioned that his public image and others' perception of him is a strong punishment, saying:

"And what is punishment? Here's my punishment, I gotta walk around for however long I live, is it 10.4 years or is it another 25 years and this is how I'm labeled now."

The UFC president added that his reputation among fighters and even the media could now be tarnished as a result. He mentioned that it is another one of his punishments for slapping his wife, saying:

"My other punishment is that, I'm sure a lot of people, whether it be media, fighters, friends, acquaintances, who had respect for me, might not have respect for me now."

White has accepted the criticism that he has received for his actions and believes those criticizing him are justified in doing so. It remains to be seen whether his acceptance of the criticism will lead to others moving on from the situation.

MMA journalist Luke Thomas criticizes UFC owners and ESPN for handling of Dana White incident

MMA journalist Luke Thomas sounded off on UFC owners at Endeavor and their broadcast partners ESPN for their handling of the Dana White incident.

Thomas was a guest on the Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, where he spoke about the incident between the UFC President and his wife on New Year's Eve. He mentioned why he believes Endeavor and ESPN haven't commented on the matter, saying:

"They are very much banking on the fact, or the hope, anyway, that this will largely go away because most scandals about fighters in the fight world by in large if they're juicy and slacious...they just ignore it."

The UFC President has mentioned that he doesn't want anybody defending his actions and that he will have to live with the consequences for his actions.
