One of Ilia Topuria's callouts has left Max Holloway confused. In an appearance on the #155th MMA Show of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast 'Blessed' stated that the featherweight champion's recent callout was akin to an angry girlfriend text.

'El Matador' and Holloway have been embroiled in a war of words ever since the former featherweight champion claimed the BMF title with a last-second highlight reel KO over Justin Gaethje.

Earlier this month, Topuria called out 'Blessed' in a post on X, initiating an all-out bible verse-off between the two.

During the podcast, Holloway told Joe Rogan that after he thwarted 'El Matador's' trash-talking attempts with a killer bible verse, his opponent returned fire with too long a response.

The newly minted BMF champion added that he didn't even attempt to read the post because of how long it was, saying:

"This is the guy we're dealing with bro. So we had a bible verse off on Twitter. Everybody is saying freaking 10-8 Holloway because of the verse that I used against him... and he writes like a freaking paragraph bro. I didn't even read it. That's how long it was."

Furthermore 'Blessed' likened Topuria's response to an angry girlfriend's text saying:

"I was tripping out. It was like an angry girlfriend text. Like my wife don't even text me like that. I read the first two sentences [and I was like] I'm not reading this bro... I read the first two [sentences] and then I saw you had to scroll [down]. [I was like] what the f**k. Did I make my wife mad?"

What was the bible-verse Max Holloway "KO'd" Ilia Topuria with?

Ilia Topuria and Max Holloway seem to be on a collision course. In one of their latest social media tirades, the fighters made use of bible verses to call out each other.

Earlier this month 'El Matador' quoted Philippians 4:13 while promising to become the first fighter to knock out 'Blessed'.

Holloway took no time to return fire. In a courteous response, the Hawaiian noted that he was ready to lock horns with the 27-year-old while quoting Jeremiah 51:20. According to SermonCentral the Bible verse Holloway quoted loosely translates to one being the weapon of God.

The 32-year-old's response invited a lot of attention, with MMA fans lauding him for the befitting reply.
