Dillon Danis recently claimed that his upcoming boxing match against KSI on January 14 could get canceled due to some unwarranted demands by the British YouTubers team.

Danis and KSI are gearing up to face each other in the square ring as they headline the MF & DAZN: X Series 004 event at the Wembley Arena in London. This marks the return of the Bellator fighter to combat sports after being sidelined for over three years due to knee surgery.

However, it seems there is a chance that Dillon Danis might not get his much-awaited comeback. The jiu-jitsu artist seems to be convinced that KSI's team is trying to find a way out without losing face.

In a recent interview with Chael Sonnen, Danis was asked if his suspicions about 'JJ' potentially pulling out are warranted. 'El Jefe' replied:

"I truly think that they're in over their heads... I feel like they're just trying to handicap me... Usually I really don't care but it seems there's a lot of fishy things going on."

Sonnen further questioned the nature of these "fishy" demands, to which Dillon Danis replied:

"So the fights at 177... They want me to be 4lbs heavier the day of the fight by 4 p.m... The fights at 7 or 8 p.m... Every pound that I don't make on the second day I get a penalty..."

Dillon Danis on why he chose to box KSI instead of returning to compete in MMA

Dillon Danis might be one of the most polarizing personalities in MMA today, and he gained public notoriety after his stint as Conor McGregor's grappling and jiu-jitsu coach. While Danis is signed to Bellator, he has had only two successful fights under his belt and has been sidelined since his last fight in 2019.

After recovering from knee surgery, Danis is set to make his return to combat sports with a boxing match against British YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI. This sudden move to boxing has caused many to question why he didn't return to fight in the octagon instead.

In the aforementioned interview, Chael Sonnen voiced the same question to Danis. 'El Jefe' gave an interesting outline of his plans, saying:

"It's a lot of money to beat up a guy that doesn't know how to fight... I feel like this fight won't happen... Feel like they're looking for a way out and if that does happen... I would jump on that Bellator card on March 2nd or 3rd..."

As of now, there is no official indication of the fight being called off. Dillon Danis is set to box KSI at the Wembley Arena in London on January 14 in a six-round contest.
