Dricus Du Plessis is having fun outside of the octagon ahead of his highly anticipated clash with Sean Strickland. The South African fighter shared snaps of himself hunting a shark on the beach.

The reigning middleweight champion shared snaps of himself dragging a massive shark on Eastern Cape Beach. He humorously labeled the sharks as his new training partners and captioned the post:

"Brought in some new training partners for camp, this one didn’t make the cut."

The post sparked reactions from several MMA fans. One fan asked Du Plessis about his actions with the shark, commenting:

Dricus Du Plessis critiques Sean Strickland's fighting style ahead of UFC 312 rematch

In their first showdown, Dricus du Plessis dethroned Sean Strickland to claim the middleweight strap at UFC 297. He had his hand raised with a split-decision victory.

Speaking on Fox Sports Australia, Du Plessis broke down Strickland's fighting style and asserted that the American fighter doesn't care about getting booed by fans for his less entertaining approach. He said:

"Nothing's changed, he looked boring like every other fight, walking forward jabbing and teeping, it wasn't an exciting fight... It wasn't a bad performance, it was the most normal performance from him ever.”
"In our fight, I remember there was a stage in the fight where I was walking forward, but he just kept moving away and I thought to myself, 'I'm going to stand here, maybe he gets the confidence to walk forward and we can punch it out.' And he just dropped his hands a little and said, 'cool.' He has no problem with the crowd booing his fighting style,” he added.
