Duangsompong Jitmuangnon dreams of making it to the big stage of ONE Championship

Duangsompong Jitmaungnon is excited to get to the next chapter of his career underway this Friday. At ONE Friday Fights 4 on February 10, he will compete under the ONE Championship banner for the very first time.

With the platform that ONE has provided for martial artists from various disciplines, Muay Thai competitors have the chance to compete alongside mixed martial artists, kickboxers and submission grapplers on the biggest stages possible.

Duangsompong has already made it clear that he is excited at the prospect of competing in the main event at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium for his debut, ticking off a huge box on his bucket list.

Facing a highly-respected opponent like Batman Or.Atchariya in the main event in Lumpinee is a huge opportunity for Duangsompong Jitmuangnon to kick off his career in ONE Championship.

“I will do my best in this fight so I can get promoted to fight on ONE Championship’s [arena] cards. It has always been my dream to compete in the big events of ONE Championship.”

Duangsompong Jitmuangnon reveals his game plan against Batman Or.Atchariya

Duangsompong Jitmuangon isn’t just going for the win in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 4. When he faces Batman Or.Atchariya on February 10, Duangsompong wants to put on a show for all the fans in attendance and those watching live at home.

He is well aware of the opportunity that is right in front of him. Not many fighters get to compete in the main event for the ONE Championship debut, let alone against a tough opponent in the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

With plans to put on a great performance that leaves the fans and hopefully, ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong impressed, Duangsompong Jitmuangnon said the following in an interview with the promotion:

“My game plan is to walk toward him but I have to be more concise than before. I think this match will not go the distance because I plan to [get the finish and] receive a bonus.”

Not only is Duangsompong Jitmuangnon excited to make his ONE Championship debut but he also is grateful for the opportunity to compete in Lumpinee. Having shared the ring with fighters that have already had this opportunity, it’s another aspect of this fight that he is excited about.

“When I knew that I was going to fight at ONE Lumpinee, I was really happy and excited. After watching my former opponents like Komawut FA.Group and Chorfah Tor.Sangtiennoi appear on ONE Lumpinee, it made me excited. Plus, I have never fought wearing small gloves before.”
