Elon Musk recently accepted Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro's challenge to fight with a simple two-word response. After winning the chaotic presidential election race in Venezuela earlier this week, Maduro seemingly turned his attention to the tech billionaire and threw down the gauntlet.
After the elections, Maduro addressed the nation and spoke about social media creating a "virtual reality" for its consumers. Maduro also slammed Musk for feeding into the narrative that his presidential election win was an alleged farce by sharing videos of his detractors tearing down his portraits and toppling his statues.
During a national address, Maduro called out Musk for a televised fight in his challenge to the tech mogul. He stated:
"Social media creates a virtual reality, and who controls the virtual reality? Our new archenemy, the famous Elon Musk."
He continued:
"Elon Musk, you are desperate. You went off the rails. Control yourself, or you will fail just like these right-wing-led all-American politicians. Elon Musk, whoever messes with me dries up. Whoever messes with Venezuela dries up, Elon Musk. You want to fight? Let’s have it, Elon Musk. Let’s go at it, wherever you want, as we say in Caracas in the neighborhoods. If you want it, I want it, Elon Musk. Just say where." [H/T Foxbusiness.com]
Musk soon responded to Maduro's challenge and reacted to a news headline shared by an X user to accept the callout. The Tesla CEO wrote:
"I accept."
Elon Musk jokes about carrying Nicolas Maduro to "Gitmo on a donkey"
After accepting Nicolas Maduro's challenge, Elon Musk doubled down on his trash talk and reacted to an X post falsely claiming to show the Venezuelan president asking his troops to watch out for the Tesla CEO.
After notorious X troll Ian Miles Cheong posted the clip on X with a misleading caption, Musk shared the tweet and claimed he was "coming for" Maduro. Joking about taking the Venezuelan leader to the infamous Guantanamo Bay detention camp, he wrote:
"I am coming for you Maduro. I will carry you to Gitmo on a donkey."
Musk was previously expected to face Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg in an MMA fight. However, the fight never materialized.
