“Everything is getting better” - Stamp Fairtex assures fans her road to recovery is going smoothly

Slowly but surely, Stamp Fairtex is fighting her way back from a devastating injury.

In June, the reigning ONE atomweight MMA world champion was scheduled to defend her title for the first time against top-five-ranked contender Denice Zamboanga at ONE 167 in Bangkok. Sadly, the fight never came to fruition after Stamp suffered a meniscus injury in one of her final sparring sessions.

Since then, the three-sport queen has undergone surgery and is on the road to recovery. Offering an update on her status via the Fairtex Training Center YouTube channel, Stamp said:

"Now, I just do rehab and recovery for my knee three times a week. Everything is getting better."

No official return date has been announced for Stamp's highly anticipated return to martial arts' biggest global stage. Fortunately, ONE Championship fans won't have to wait long to see an atomweight MMA world championship fight.

Denice Zamboanga battles Alyona Rassohyna for the interim atomweight title while Stamp is sidelined

On Friday, Jan. 10, ONE Championship will return to the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand for a loaded ONE Fight Night 27 card on Amazon Prime Video.

In one of the featured bouts of the evening, second-ranked atomweight contender Denice Zamboanga will square off with fourth-ranked Alyona Rassohyna for the interim ONE atomweight MMA world championship.

Zamboanga goes into the bout riding a three-fight win streak, including noteworthy wins against Lin Heqin, Julie Mezabarba, and Noelle Grandjean. With a win over Rassohyna at ONE Fight Night 27, 'The Menace' will set up her first-ever clash with Stamp Fairtex.

Meanwhile, Rassohyna has already gone toe-to-toe with the Thai fan favorite on two separate occasions. Rassohyna scored a submission victory in what was Stamp's first career mixed martial arts bout. Seven months later, they would run it back with Stamp coming out on top via a split decision.
