Fabricio Andrade on Anatoly Malykhin as a training partner: “He’s a good person to have around”

Reigning and undisputed ONE bantamweight MMA world champion ‘Wonder Boy’ Fabricio Andrade is one of the most talented fighters in the world. But as the saying goes, in martial arts, and any sport for that matter, iron sharpens iron.

Andrade works with some of the best fighters in the world at the renowned Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket, Thailand. But one man in particular has really boosted Andrade’s confidence and his skills.

‘Wonder Boy’ spends a lot of time training and working out with close friend and gymmate, reigning ONE heavyweight and light heavyweight world champion, ‘Sladkiy’ Anatoly Malykhin. The two have struck an incredible bond, as they can often be seen running trails with each other and at times even sparring.

Speaking to the YouTube channel, The MMA Superfan, in a recent interview, Andrade talked about Malykhin’s influence on him and his fellow teammates at Tiger Muay Thai:

‘Wonder Boy’ said:

“He’s always pushing people, motivating them, being positive, trying to beat each other. Even though he’s much heavier than me, when we’re running he’ll try to catch me, sometimes he’ll try to be faster than me, so it’s just like I said he’s a good person to have around.”

Andrade expects Malykhin to be in his corner when he goes for a history-making performance in his next fight.

Andrade is set to lock horns with ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion ‘The General’ Jonathan Haggerty at ONE Fight Night 16 for the vacant ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title. The event broadcasts live from the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, November.
