John Lineker and Fabricio Andrade are yet to touch gloves, but they’re already throwing some nasty bombs at each other.

The two will finally square off when Lineker defends the ONE bantamweight world title against Andrade at ONE on Prime Video 3. The event will go down this Friday at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur.

During the buildup to the bout, Lineker and Andrade featured as part of ONE Championship’s virtual media day faceoffs. In the interaction, the two took the chance to launch into an offensive verbal exchange.

Andrade has always been one to talk trash, but Lineker held his own against the No.2-ranked bantamweight contender.

Although Lineker preferred to converse in his native Portuguese tongue, Andrade turned up the heat by speaking directly to his compatriot without letting the translator miss a word of what he wanted to say.

Andrade went back on Lineker's suggestion that there should be no takedowns in their fight. The world title contender doubled down on that deal, while the bantamweight king suggested they sign a legal contract affirming the arrangement.

Fabricio Andrade said:

"I hope he can keep his word when he tagged me in his post saying that he wants me to strike with him and not [go to the] takedown. I hope he can keep his word of keeping this fight standing up and not end up wrestling each other.”

John Lineker replied:

“If you want, we can even sign a contract saying we will only do boxing, we will keep it standing and we won’t go down. We can sign the contract and spend all the rounds in the box.”

Lineker and Andrade are two of the premier knockout artists in ONE Championship, with both fighters on a streak of three straight KO wins.

Andrade blasted Li Kai Wen, Jeremy Pacatiw, and Kwon Won Il on his way to world title contention. Lineker, meanwhile, put away two of the organization’s best-ever fighters.

‘Hands of Stone’ knocked out former ONE bantamweight world champion Kevin Belingon, Troy Worthen, and finally, Brazilian legend Bibiano Fernandes to grab hold of the bantamweight throne at ONE: Lights Out this past March.

In the end, both Lineker and Andrade upheld the deal to maintain an all-striking brawl.

“Yeah, for sure, we’ll keep that promise, we’ll keep the fight up and we’ll keep everything on the strike,” said Andrade.

Fabricio Andrade responds to fans’ queries in AMA

Fabricio Andrade may have his hands full preparing for his world title challenge, but he can still make some time to respond to his fans.

‘Wonder Boy’ recently took part in an Ask Me Anything session with ONE Championship, during which he eagerly answered his supporters’ questions on social media.

One question that Fabricio Andrade seemed to have taken a liking to surrounded what he’ll do if he beats Lineker in the main event of ONE on Prime Video 3.

“What’s the first thing you’re gonna do after you break the stone? - I am gonna go back to my room and stare at my belt for a couple of hours.”

He also gave a cheeky response when one fan asked if he liked the hit animated show, South Park.

“Yes 😁,” answered Fabricio Andrade.
