Fabricio Andrade had a breakout year in 2022. With back-to-back first-round finishes and a shot at the ONE bantamweight world championship, the Brazilian delivered on the hype that was surrounding him.

Whilst his final fight of the year, the world title match against John Lineker, may not have gone to plan, it still earned him a lot of respect.

At ONE on Prime Video 3, the bantamweight battle between the two Brazilians ended in a no contest following an unintentional foul. Andrade landed a knee low to Lineker’s groin, which was certainly a big missed opportunity for him after he was seemingly moments away from becoming the world champion.

Despite missing out on achieving his dream by a thin margin, Fabricio Andrade is looking back fondly on the past year of his career and taking lessons from it.

In an interview with ONE Championship, ‘Wonder Boy’ said:

“It was a very good year with many professional and personal accomplishments. Regardless of the result of the last fight, I think it was a very good year because it taught me a lot and made me evolve as an athlete and as a person.”

At ONE on Prime Video 7, Andrade will get the chance to put his last fight right when he rematches John Lineker on February 10.

Fabricio Andrade is stoked for ONE’s U.S. Debut

Brazil’s Fabricio Andrade is excited about ONE Championship’s upcoming United States debut.

ONE recently announced its debut on U.S. soil, which is scheduled for May 5, 2023. ONE on Prime Video 10 will be headlined by the trilogy fight between Demetrious Johnson and Adriano Moraes and will take place inside the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado.

During a recent interview with ONE, Fabricio Andrade had this to say about the promotion’s U.S. expansion:

“We were already expecting ONE to do an event in the U.S. in 2023, but receiving the news that it will happen is something very gratifying, as it shows that ONE is growing. It's great news, and it makes me really excited to hear that ONE is growing so much.”

Andrade will kick off his year with a huge rematch against John Lineker at ONE on Prime Video 7. If ‘Wonder Boy’ is able to get the job done on February 10 without taking too much damage, he could be joining Demetrious Johnson and Adriano Moraes at the top of the bill for ONE on Prime Video 10 in May.
