Fabricio Andrade vs John Lineker ended in a no contest after an unintentional foul

In a recent Instagram post, Mitch Chilson was taught how Fabricio Andrade throws his signature shot.

The ONE Championship commentator frequently posts short videos with some of the promotion's very best. During them, they demonstrate how to land their most devastating techniques. Fabricio ‘Wonder Boy’ Andrade was the latest fighter to join Chilson’s list of breakdowns as he demonstrated his signature knee to the body.

Andrade used this very shot to hurt John Lineker and become moments away from becoming the bantamweight world champion at ONE on Prime Video 3 last week. However, his follow-up strike landed low and the fight was waved off as a no contest.

Chilson reposted the original clip, which was uploaded on fight week, with Fabricio Andrade demonstrating it on him. He then shows footage of ‘Wonder Boy’ hurting John Lineker with the exact same technique.

The original post had the caption:

“These body shots can take your soul... @fabricioandrade1 is a special striker. He has gone 5-0 here in ONE and the last 2 have been by body shot KO. Can he do it again against one of the most dangerous strikers in the world, John “Hands of Stone” Lineker? We all get to find out on Oct 21 on ONE on Prime Video III #onechampionship #mma”

“I got carried away” – Fabricio Andrade admits to a costly mistake in trying to finish John Lineker

After being just moments away from becoming the ONE bantamweight champion, Fabricio Andrade has reflected on what went wrong.

After hurting John Lineker, Andrade’s follow-up knee landed low to Lineker’s groin. When 'Hands of Stone' couldn’t continue, the fight was declared a no contest.

One misplaced shot cost Fabricio Andrade the best performance and victory of his career. With John Lineker missing weight before the fight, the world championship now lies vacant.

Speaking to ONE Championship a few days after the fight, Andrade said:

“In the third round, I felt like I was going to knock him out. That would be his last round. He was very injured, he could no longer see with one eye and was very tired. I felt that he was very tired and that the power of his blows was no longer the same. I also saw the desperation in his corner, so I knew he wouldn't make it past that round.”

He added:

“When I landed the knee on him, I thought, ‘Now, it's over.’ But it turned out that I got carried away and ended up landing a blow to his genitals, which turned out to be his salvation.”

Andrade already has his sights set on fighting for the world championship again, canceling his holiday plans to get straight back into the gym in preparation.
