Dana White has been trolled by MMA fans on his Instagram following the UFC and ESPN's decision to raise the price of pay-per-views, starting in 2023.

ESPN recently announced that they would be upping their price from $74.99 to $79.99 for UFC pay-per-view events in 2023, but the annual subscription price of $99.99 for ESPN+ subscribers won't be affected.

In a video uploaded to his Instagram, White offered fans the chance to win seats for the first-ever Power Slap live event, but has been hounded by fans in the comments section due to the UFC pay-per-view price change.

One fan responded to Dana White and bluntly stated that they'd rather the pay-per-view price be lowered than a Power Slap giveaway:

"How about dropping the f***ing PPV prices"

Another fan insisted the pay-per-view price needs to be changed because middle-class families in the US can't afford the hike:

"Ooorrr hear me out...we lower the cost of ppv so middle class American can still enjoy ufc fights..."

Instagram user @tylerriodawn has suggested that they'll start to look towards illegally streaming UFC content because of the new price and jibed to Dana White that UFC fighters aren't compensated anyway:

"Thanks for the price increase I'll start streaming fights since none of your athletes get money anyways"

UFC Hall of Famer handed role in Dana White's Power Slap League

With Dana White ready to kick off his new Power Slap venture in 2023, MMA fans will be happy to see the familiar face of Forrest Griffin on their screens should they tune in.

The UFC Hall of Famer will take on the role as the 'head catcher', whose job will be to make sure competitors don't fall down or stagger back after the impact of the slaps.

Griffin discussed the new role on Instagram and was excited about the future of the sport:

"I'm gonna be a head catcher. I mean, it seems like a pretty interesting gig, right? And also, I get like, the best seat in the house, and honestly, I'm pretty good at catching injured people. I'm kinda doing it for research purposes. I'm just interested to see like the different types of impacts and what happens."

The 43-year-old added:

"That double impact, right? You've taken the first trauma and then when your head, the back of your head hits the ground and bang, bang, both sides of your brain actually bounce against the skull, so we want to prevent that and make it just the initial impact and have that be what either causes or does not cause you to win or lose a competition."
