It appears as though John Kavanagh anticipates big things on the horizon for his superstar pupil Conor McGregor. Recently, he made a bold prediction regarding the Irishman's acting career.

The former two-division UFC champion joined the list of former fighters to transition into acting as he was cast for the upcoming film 'Roadhouse', a remake of the 1989 film starring Patrick Swayze. Kavanagh recently took to his X account, expressing his excitement about Tom Cruise reportedly returning for 'Top Gun 3' and predicted that 'The Notorious' can also join the star-studded cast. He wrote:

"1. @TomCruise the only one making good movies so great news! 2. They should cast @TheNotoriousMMA as the antagonist pilot. With most Hollywood action stars in their late 50s it's a pretty safe bet he'll take over this genre. First 'Roadhouse' then this!"

Top Gun: Maverick', the sequel to the 1986 film 'Top Gun', was a massive box office success, grossing approximately $1.49 billion. It was one of the highest-grossing films of 2022. Thus, McGregor's appearance in the trilogy would be an incredible addition to his filmography and could lead to more opportunities in Hollywood.

John Kavanagh quotes famous Rocky Balboa scene to describe dangers of smartphones for children

John Kavanagh recently weighed in on the ongoing debate regarding the hazard of smartphones for children and referenced a famous scene from Sylvester Stallone's 2006 film 'Rocky Balboa'.

The SBG Ireland coach reacted after coming across a tweet from The Irish Times relating to an article in which they examined whether smartphones harm the mental health of children in school. He stated his belief to be the case. However, it's not being promoted in general as such. He wrote:

"Yes. Life is mostly very hard/mundane with the odd brief interlude of extreme fun/happiness. Social media tells them it's the other way round. 'The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place.'"
