Former Bellator champion reacts to Justin Gaethje accusing Michael Bisping of being "biased"

Justin Gaethje wasn't happy with how Michael Bisping was in commentary during UFC 286. Gaethje blasted the former UFC middleweight champion as he believed Bisping was biased toward Leon Edwards during the welterweight champion's main event bout against Kamaru Usman.

Former Bellator welterweight champion Ben Askren weighed in on the accusations while speaking with Daniel Cormier on the UFC Hall of Famer's YouTube channel. During the conversation, Askren mentioned that the former lightweight title challenger might not be wrong with his claims:

"He might not be wrong. Justin Gaethje might not be wrong... I will tell you I had the mute on for the fights." [1:58 - 2:00]

Askren did note that he was watching with the sound muted because he had the volume on for the wrestling matches he was watching.

He mentioned that although he didn't watch with the sound on, he could understand if a fighter like 'The Highlight' would feel as though a commentator is biased:

"I have no idea [if the commentary was biased]. But I know Michael Bisping. Listen, we're all humans, we all like people and don't like people, and I believe that Michael has had some bias before and we're human, it happens."

It remains to be seen whether Justin Gaethje will continue to sound off on the issue or move on, but he was obviously bothered by how Bisping called the main event.

Daniel Cormier says he believes that Michael Bisping did a great job despite Justin Gaethje's complaint

Despite Justin Gaethje stating that Michael Bisping was biased on commentary at UFC 286, Daniel Cormier believes that 'The Count' did a great job.

During their conversation, 'DC' told Ben Askren that he is constantly labeled as a biased commentator by some for how he calls the fights. He mentioned that Bisping did well, especially considering how long they were on air:

"People always call me biased. The reality is everybody has a little bit of that in them, right, but I thought he did a good job... We were on air four-and-a-half hours before we even got on to the main card... It's ridiculous, bro, we had 15 fights on Saturday night, so it was a long long day. I though Mike did a fantastic job as he always does." [2:29 - 2:51]

Cormier defending his broadcast partner shows that he feels it was perhaps unfair to criticize him for the way he called the main event.
