A former UFC commentator recently expressed interest in returning to the promotion. The promotion has an event almost every Saturday, so another commentator in the rotation could be logical should they go in that direction.

Mike Goldberg was once the voice of the MMA leader, where he spent 19 years calling fights. During the majority of his tenure, he and Joe Rogan would call every Fight Night card and pay-per-view, and developed a natural chemistry. He was later among the cuts that were made following the promotion's sale to Endeavor in 2016 and replaced by Jon Anik as their main play-by-play announcer.

During his appearance on Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson's JAXXON PODCAST, 'Goldie' admitted that his departure was difficult to deal with and noted that he has no hard feelings towards UFC CEO Dana White. Goldberg mentioned that he would love to return one day if the opportunity presents itself:

"If I saw [Lorenzo Fertitta], it would be a very pleasurable conversation. With Dana [White], I don't know, he liked to pick on me a little bit. I always felt like I towed the company line...I never argued. I don't know, I'd be honored to do it again and I have huge respect for Dana but who knows? I don't think he hates me, but we're not pen pals." [1:22:41 - 1:23:12]
