ONE Championship's announcement of a $1 million winning prize for its Muay Thai Grand Prix is a very appealing paycheck for many fighters, supposedly including one former UFC heavyweight.

Glory Kickboxing's heavyweight fighter Alistair Overeem is better known for his career as a mixed martial artist. The Dutchman racked up 20 fights inside the UFC's famed octagon and faced many iconic fighters during his time in the promotion.

An earlier report by the South China Morning Post suggested that Overeem had reached out to ONE Championship to compete in the Grand Prix.

However, Alistair Overeem himself addressed the rumors in an Instagram post and denied them. He clarified that he was invited as a guest to a ONE Championship event in Bangkok and enjoyed the card as a visitor. He played down the gossip and reinforced his commitment to his current promotion, Glory Kickboxing:

"Just to set the record straight… I’m on a holiday in Thailand and was invited to an One FC event in Bangkok. As a fan of the sport, I always enjoy watching some good fights. Just as a visitor. Nothing more, nothing less. So… for all the people who love to spread rumors; sorry guys :) no gossip here. I’m dedicated to @glorykickboxing 🥊"

UFC featherweight announces exit from the promotion

UFC featherweight Vince Morales has announced the end of his time at the promotion. The former Dana White's Contender Series participant competed in eight fights inside the octagon and notched three wins.

Morales was on a two-fight skid after losing both his bouts in 2022 via unanimous decision to Jonathan Martinez and Miles Johns.

'Vandetta' took to Twitter to announce his departure and expressed his gratitude towards the promotion. He recounted his accomplishments and maintained that he will continue on the same path to achieve further success in mixed martial arts:

"Looks like I'm fighting elsewhere for the time being. Shoutout @ufc for the opportunities thus far. My goals haven't and won't change though. I still feel super young in the sport and got alot I want to get done. Roads to success are rarely smooth."

Vince Morales will now look for a new promotion to sign with and add to his 11 professional wins.
