Brazilian MMA star Fabricio Andrade sent waves throughout the bantamweight MMA division when he defeated Mark Abelardo in his ONE Championship debut in July 2020 at ONE: No Surrender, which took place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

Andrade pulled off a second-round submission victory over Abelardo, and his impressive performance was published by ONE Championship on YouTube with the video description:

"Reigning ONE Bantamweight MMA World Champion Fabricio Andrade produced a slick submission finish in his ONE debut against Filipino-Kiwi star Mark Abelardo back in 2020!"

'Wonder Boy' quickly pressed 'Tyson' against the ropes at the start of the match in hopes of melting him with pressure. But Abelardo didn't oblige and returned the favor by also marching forward to match Andrade's aggressiveness.

Abelardo also made it known in the opening round that his grappling would also be a threat throughout the match by engaging in multiple clinch battles and attempting takedowns.

This information was quickly downloaded by Andrade in the second round, and he used it to his advantage by transitioning into a rear-naked choke technique that left the Filipino-Kiwi contender no choice but to tap and give the submission win to Andrade.

Fabricio Andrade wants to get another stoppage win over Kwon Won Il in upcoming rematch at ONE 170

After coming up short of becoming a two-sport world champion, the Evolve MMA and Tiger Muay Thai representative is now ready to return to his duty as the undisputed ONE bantamweight MMA king.

Andrade is now scheduled to face the current number three-ranked contender, Kwon Won Il, in a world championship rematch on Jan. 24 at ONE 170, which goes down inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok.

Before he gets his hands once more with 'Pretty Boy,' the 27-year-old striking sensation talked to Sportskeeda MMA for an interview, and he looks to get another finish against Kwon, much like what he did in their first meeting in June 2022.

Andrade claimed:

"But I'm very confident that I will eventually find holes in his game and stop the fight. But I'm not focused on this just to try and finish it as early as possible in the earlier rounds."
