Fabricio Andrade predicted a finish in his upcoming battle with Kwon Won Il.
In February 2023, Andrade made his dream come true by securing the ONE bantamweight MMA world title. Following a kickboxing super-fight and extended layoff, 'Wonder Boy' is ready to defend his throne for the first time.
On Jan. 24, 2025, Andrade will face No. 3-ranked bantamweight Kwon Won Il at the highly-anticipated ONE 170.
Andrade recently did an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda and had this to say about his upcoming fight:
"But I’m very confident that I will eventually find holes in his game and stop the fight. But I’m not focused on this just to try and finish it as early as possible in the earlier rounds."
ONE 170 will take place inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. The forthcoming event features three world title fights, including Fabricio Andrade's rematch vs. Kwon Won Il, and can be seen live and for free by North American and Canadian viewers with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
The January 2025 event will be headlined by a must-see featherweight Muay Thai world title rematch between Tawanchai and Superbon. In the co-main event, Superlek defends his bantamweight Muay Thai throne against Nico Carrillo.
Kwon Won Il looks to avenge previous defeat against Fabricio Andrade
ONE 170 won't be the first time Fabricio Andrade and Kwon Won Il fought under the ONE Championship banner. In June 2022, the world-class bantamweight fought at ONE 158, with Andrade securing a first-round knocking win.
Since then, Kwon has bounced back with three consecutive finishes against Mark Abelardo (third-round knockout), Artem Belakh (second-round knockout), and Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg (second-round knockout).
As for Andrade, he's maintained an undefeated MMA record of 6-0 (one no-contest) in the promotion. The 27-year-old superstar has finished five fights, with four by KO/TKO and one by submission.
Andrade's last MMA fight was a title-winning fourth-round TKO against John Lineker. The Brazilian phenom has looked nearly unbeatable in his division and plans to pick up right where he left off against Kwon.
'Wonder Boy' hasn't fought since a kickboxing defeat against Jonathan Haggerty in November 2023 to recover from lingering injuries.
