Thai striking superstar Superlek Kiatmoo9 had the pleasure of welcoming the former multiple-division K1 champion Takeru Segawa to ONE Championship when they collided in a superfight in January 2024 at ONE 165 in Tokyo, Japan.
Superlek defended his ONE flyweight kickboxing world title against Takeru, and the world's largest martial arts organization published the full fight replay on their YouTube channel.
They wrote its video description with:
"Defending king Superlek and Japanese legend Takeru went all out in a five-round war for the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title in the main event of ONE 165!"
'The Kicking Machine' used 'The Natural Born Crusher's' lead leg as the focal point of his attack and targeted it throughout the championship bout. This significantly slowed down the movement and power of Takeru.
Superlek also showed his heart as a champion by surviving the third-round onslaught from the hometown bet. Takeru tagged him at the last minute of the third round, but he remained standing and avoided a knockdown, which could have changed the complexity of the match.
In the end, the now-two-sport and two-division world champion secured the comfortable unanimous decision victory to spoil the Team Vasileus representative's promotional debut.
Superlek welcomed award-winning artist Wiz Khalifa to Thailand in recent visit
Ahead of his upcoming world title defense of his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai crown against Scottish powerhouse Nico Carrillo on January 24 at ONE 170 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, Superlek welcomed his old friend Wiz Khalifa to his motherland.
The two went on to train and spar at the American Kickboxing Academy Thailand, and the Kiatmoo9 Gym representative posted a few snaps with the award-winning artist that he captioned it:
"I am very happy to see you again in Thailand. Welcome to Thailand. 🥰"
