Gervonta Davis fiercely dismissed the idea of Jake Paul beating him in a potential boxing match. Davis is the multi-division boxing champion and considered among the greatest boxing talents in the world today.
Meanwhile, YouTuber-turned-professional boxer Jake Paul has received a lot of praise lately for building legitimate boxing skills in spite of being a relative newcomer to the sport.
Recently, a fan post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) suggested that Jake Paul would be a tough fight for Gervonta Davis and claimed that he could beat ‘Tank’ in a competitive match. The post read:
“Honestly with Jake Paul’s natural boxing skill and with a full camp, I think he gets the job done with Tank Davis. Jake has all the advantages and he’s younger. It would be very tuff for @Gervontaa to beat @jakepaul. Very competitive fight. We need to see it.”
Davis did not take the post lightly and responded:
“Shut the f*** up!”
He has since deleted the post but talkSPORT journalist Michael Benson posted the screenshot on his ‘X’ account.

Devin Haney has a condition to fight Gervonta Davis
The Jake Paul fight is a lucrative proposition for an elite professional boxer from a commercial standpoint. However, hardcore boxing fans are more interested in watching two of the best boxers go at it. Gervonta Davis vs Devin Haney is one such fight that has caught the imagination of boxing fans in recent times.
While Devin Haney is interested in competing against Gervonta Davis, he wants the fight to happen in the division of his choice. During a recent appearance on The MMA Hour, Devin Haney said:
“It would have to happen at 140lbs. He's fought at 140lbs before, he beat Mario Barrios at 140lbs. I’m at 140 now. It would make the most sense for it to be at 140lbs.”
He added:
“Tank is the type of fighter he says he doesn’t care about the belts. He doesn’t fight for belts, he fights for the money. So he wouldn’t care about the belts at 135 lbs. He would just want to make the money in fighting me. So 140!”
