Gilbert Burns is not happy about Belal Muhammad being ahead of him in the official UFC welterweight rankings and recently took to Twitter to make his feelings known. Muhammad currently occupies the No.4-rank and Burns sits one spot below in fifth.

'Durinho' most recently defeated Neil Magny at UFC 283 with a decisive first-round submission and wasted no time calling out the division and its ranked contenders for ducking him.

Burns has also accused Muhammad of avoiding a fight against him in the past and the two welterweights have gone back-and-forth on social media regarding the same. Not long ago, Burns revisited his grievances and took a shot at the UFC official rankings. The Brazilian wrote:

"Rankings...The disrespect is real! The guy literally (Duck emoji) you and gets a reward for it."

Gilbert Burns' only octagon appearance in 2022 was his razor-close decision loss to surging unbeaten phenom Khamzat Chimaev.

After his emphatic win at UFC 283, Burns turned his attention towards Colby Covington. He called out the former interim champion soon after his dominant showing against Neil Magny as he looks to re-enter the welterweight title mix.

Belal Muhammad fires back at Gilbert Burns for his rankings dig

Belal Muhammad wants Gilbert Burns to take a look at their last four opponents if he wants to know how he overtook him in the official UFC welterweight rankings.

At the UFC 283 pre-fight presser, Burns questioned Muhammad's ascent up the rankings to claim the No.4 spot. The Brazilian complained about not understanding how 'Remember The Name' passed him despite not beating him first:

"How the heck Belal Muhammad beats Sean Brady... And he passes me in the rankings? He never beat me. Why [did] he take my place? And he declined the fight when they offered we fight each other here in Rio... How the f**k did this guy pass me in the rankings? He never beat me and he doesn’t want to fight me."

In response to this, Muhammad fired back at Burns, highlighting how he's beaten more ranked contenders than the Brazilian:

"Lol because u have one ranked win and I have 4 ….and u begged for the Masvidal fight for the last 7 months."
