Brazilian veteran Gilberto Galvao will make his first walk to the circle in three-and-a-half years on Friday night.
βGibaβ has 30 career wins, but getting number 31 will be a tough task as Galvao will meet former two-division world champion Aung La N Sang. The two will square off as part of the stacked ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video lineup. Speaking with ONE Championship, Galvao revealed that he feels good going into the bout despite the long layoff:
βPhysically, I feel that I am very well prepared. As I said, I had been taking care of my physical condition. Iβm just out of fighting rhythm.β
Gilberto Galvao will go into the bout with a 2-2 record under the ONE Championship banner. Debuting for the promotion in 2016, βGibaβ has alternated wins and losses, scoring victories over Tatsuya Mizuno and Jake Butler, but suffered losses to Marcin Prachino and βThe Dutch Knightβ Reinier de Ridder.

Galvaoβs opponent Aung La N Sang will be looking for his second-straight win inside the circle after delivering a brutal first-round knockout to Japanese MMA icon Yushin βThunderβ Okami at ONE 163 in November.
You can catch their fight and the entire ONE Fight Night 6 lineup on Amazon Prime Video this Friday night in U.S. primetime with an active subscription to the streaming service.
Gilberto Galvao plans to rely on his ground game to get the job done at ONE Fight Night 6
Gilberto Galvao has been on the sidelines for quite some time, but that isnβt stopping the Brazilian grappler from going into the bout with a heap of confidence. Meeting a bonafide ONE Championship legend, Galvao hopes to implement his game plan by exploiting one of his opponents' Achilles heels:
βI havenβt fought for a long time, but I know I take down better than him, and I have a better ground game than him. Those are my most dangerous weapons. But Iβm going up to put up a good fight. ONE Championship called me for this, and thatβs what Iβm going to do. Iβm going up in the cage to put on a show.β
Though Aung La N Sang is known for getting the job done with his hands, βThe Burmese Pythonβ has spoken openly about evolving his game to keep up with the best grapplers under the ONE banner. Friday nightβs bout against Galvao will be a big test of Aung Laβs development in the grappling game.
