As the countdown for ONE Fight Night 26 begins, Muay Thai legend Sam-A Gaiyanghadao has made an analytical prediction over Thongpoon PK Saenchai's upcoming brawl against Danial Williams next Friday.
This exciting fight card won't be complete without a full-fledged Muay Thai war between Thai rising star Thongpoon PK Saenchai and martial arts chameleon 'Mini-T' Danial Williams on Dec. 6.
The two strikers have a surmountable amount of striking knowledge between them, but only one person can take home the win.
As the event draws closer, former two-time strawweight Muay Thai, kickboxing, and flyweight Muay Thai world champion Sam-A believes Thongpoon has what it takes to beat Williams in resounding fashion.
Speaking exclusively to Sportskeeda MMA, Sam-A said:
"He should use the fast movement in kickboxing style against Thongpoon. But I still think Thongpoon have an edge over him, he can use his aggression to win this fight."
Thongpoon, as Sam-A aforementioned, is certainly a tough opponent to contend with. He's a natural-born brawler with the propensity to abandon all restraint just to get the finish. His aggression and speed may be a problem for Williams, who has a more conservative approach.
However, Williams is by no means an easy task. He's a well-rounded striker with the ability to adapt to his environment. This aspect is one of the many reasons why this strawweight Muay Thai bout will be so intriguing to watch.
"I became careless and made mistakes" - Thongpoon says he's stopped believing he was always better than his opponents
Thongpoon believes he's grown a lot as a fighter. Before, he never used to show any kind of respect for his opposition and what they could potentially bring to the table. That was until one day, he got humbled by those he thought weren't as good as him.
Speaking to ONE, he said:
"I will always see everyone as better than me because it will make me not careless. In the past, I used to think that I was better than others, and it made me arrogant and narcissistic. I became careless and made mistakes."
ONE Fight Night 26 airs live from the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, via Prime Video for North American subscribers.
As the competition in ONE Championship gets stronger, Thongpoon knows better than to underestimate anyone's abilities. At the same time, it's the driving force behind his motivation to win if he can beat someone as elite and as strong as Danial Williams, for instance.
