Rodtang Jitmuangnon has faced a lot of high-level opposition during his long and legendary career in Muay Thai. However, for all of the different opponents and matchups that he has needed to adapt to, a future challenger could provide a new test.
Former ONE bantamweight MMA world champion John Lineker has recently been setting the Muay Thai world on fire since he crossed over into the sport.
He has secured back-to-back wins in just one month, stopping Asa Ten Pow at ONE 168 before producing an even more stunning stoppage over Alexey Balyko at ONE Fight Night 25.
His callout of the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion certainly got fans talking, but it doesn't look like 'The Iron Man' is particularly concerned.
Though many would look at Lineker as a very dangerous fight due to his marauding style and heavy hands, Rodtang views this as a limited game.
In an interview with ONE Championship, the Thai superstar broke down his opponent's game and why he fights with such an aggressive pressure style:
"But I understand his style. Because he's short, he can't kick effectively. He has to walk in to punch."
Rodtang is known for meeting fire with fire
The reason that a matchup with Rodtang and John Lineker would be so exciting is because both of them possess a similar key trait.
When most opponents come up against either man, they're forced to play the matador in order to avoid the ruthless power that is coming right back at them.
'The Iron Man' knows that the Brazilian brings a lot of danger to the Muay Thai game but that hasn't worried him in the past and it's not going to now.
The champ currently has other issues on his mind with his comeback already confirmed for ONE 169 on Nov. 8 where he will defend his flyweight crown against Jacob Smith at Lumpinee Stadium.
