Tyson Fury's coach has shed light on a heartbreaking tragedy that the boxing legend suffered around the time of his first encounter against Oleksandr Usyk. The veteran trainer, who's known Fury since his younger years, suggested that he was unaware of the unfortunate incident but did feel something was wrong by observing 'The Gypsy King.'
Speaking to SunSport, longtime member of Team Fury, coach Andy Lee, explained how various factors adversely affected the boxing megastar ahead of the first Usyk fight. In May 2024, then-unified heavyweight champion Usyk almost knocked then-WBC heavyweight champion Fury out en route to a split-decision victory to become the undisputed heavyweight champion.
Lee alluded to how it was only much later, in October, that Tyson Fury asserted that his wife Paris Fury suffered a miscarriage before his fight against Usyk. The trainer stated:
"I wasn't aware of it [Paris' miscarriage]. I knew she was expecting a child. She's always at the fights and I was expecting her to be there, really. When she wasn't there I thought maybe she can't fly or something like that. Tyson never mentioned it. He never mentioned it once but he was very quiet."

Lee further seemed to suggest that though he and Fury had a conversation on the day of the fight, the pugilist was very quiet:
"There was a certain quietness to him or maybe a sadness but that was probably playing on his mind."
Moreover, Lee explained that one watches a fight but generally doesn't get to see the months and weeks leading up, which considerably influence the fight. He implied that Tyson Fury sustaining a cut that led to the fight getting postponed, not being able to train properly, and likely thinking about a potential problem concerning his wife all probably hurt his performance.
Lee juxtaposed that inside the ring, he saw Usyk focused and present, whereas he felt Fury was perhaps agitated, anxious, and not like his usual self.
Tyson Fury addressed the unfortunate incident that befell longtime partner Paris Fury and their family
Tyson Fury and Paris Fury have seven children together. The Englishman has long credited Paris for supporting him throughout his career. Tyson is currently booked to face unified heavyweight champion, Ukraine's Oleksandr Usyk, in a rematch in Riyadh, Saudi, Arabia, on Dec. 21, 2024.
Speaking to the media during a promotional scrum for their second encounter, Tyson disclosed that his wife Paris suffered a miscarriage when she was six months pregnant on the eve of his first fight against Usyk. He explained that she usually attends his fights but told him she couldn't make it to Riyadh for the May 2024 matchup.
Tyson recalled telling his brother that he felt Paris had lost their child. He underscored that despite fearing the same before the fight, he received confirmation of it only after the fight. The ex-heavyweight kingpin said:
"I could not be there for her in that moment. And that's tough for me."
Speaking to Mirror, Paris Fury implied that she'd suffered a miscarriage but wanted to ensure that Tyson Fury was focused, which is why she lied that she'd only suffered from high blood pressure that made travel unfeasible and kept the news from him until after the match.
