Oleksandr Oleksandrovych Usyk, born on January 17, 1987, in Simferopol, Crimean Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union, is a Ukrainian professional boxer. He has achieved championship status in two weight classes. Currently, he holds the title of the undisputed champion in the heavyweight division.

Usyk was the first boxer in the cruiserweight division to hold all four major world titles, making him widely regarded as one of the greatest Ukrainian boxers of all time. His victory over Anthony Joshua in 2021 solidified his status as one of only three boxers to unify the cruiserweight world titles and become a world heavyweight champion, joining Evander Holyfield and David Haye.

As an amateur, Usyk secured heavyweight gold medals at the 2011 World Championships and the 2012 Olympics. His professional career has been equally impressive, with the undisputed cruiserweight championship attained in his 15th professional fight in 2018. He vacated his cruiserweight titles in 2019 to move up to the heavyweight division, where he defeated unified champion Anthony Joshua in September 2021 to claim the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO titles. In August 2022, he successfully defended these titles in a rematch against Joshua, while also winning the vacant Ring title. On May 18, 2024, Usyk became the first boxer to claim the undisputed heavyweight championship in 24 years after defeating Tyson Fury.
