The tweet read:

"I don't care what you say. Molly is tough as shit. She [could have] tapped 2 minutes before she did. [The] crowd was chanting Molly The Meatball at MSG. I love her."

Molly 'The Meatball' McCann signed with Dave Portnoy's sports blog Barstool Sports earlier in July. Portnoy has made several appearances at UFC events featuring McCann and even attended her fight at UFC 281.

Apart from founding Barstool Sports, Dave Portnoy hosts the One Bite with Davey Pageviews on YouTube. It's a show of him reviewing pizzas, sometimes alongside a celebrity. He started the show in 2017 with the intention of trying every slice of pizza in Manhattan.

How did Dave Portnoy's favorite, Molly McCann, fair at UFC 281?

Molly McCann lost her bout via submission due to a kimura against Erin Blanchfield at UFC 281. The fight started with a few exchanges on the feet before the Jersey native Blanchfield took McCann down within the first minute.

"Cold Blooded" held "The Meatball" in side control before advancing to a crucifix position, all while landing punches and elbows on McCann. Eventually, Blanchfield was able to isolate McCann's arm and set up a kimura lock.

McCann was able to stave off the first attempt, however, Blanchfield resettled the position and managed to find the kimura finish on her second attempt.

Molly McCann was the biggest underdog on the UFC 281 card at +320. What's ironic is that the New York crowd was more cognizant of 'The Meatball' as a fighter, even though Erin Blanchfield was the home turf fighter from New Jersey.
