“I collect memories” - Anatoly Malykhin says spending time with his family remains his most valuable collection

ONE middleweight and light heavyweight MMA world champion Anatoly Malykhin is not one to collect too much material stuff. Instead, he keeps memories of the moments he shares with his family, particularly with his son and wife, which he believes are more valuable.

'Sladkiy' shared this about his personal life in an interview with ONE Championship, highlighting how collecting life memories has been his thing to make sense of everything he does.

The 37-year-old Russian champion said:

"No, I don’t collect anything like that. I collect memories. Good times with my son, with my wife. That’s what I hold onto. Photos on my phone, moments in my head — to me, that’s the most valuable kind of collection."

Anatoly Malykhin is drawing so much inspiration from wife, Anita, and son, Leo, as he continues in what has been a highly successful professional MMA career.

In a decade-long pro journey, he has compiled an impressive 14-1 record. Six of his victories have come in ONE Championship, which he has been a part of since 2021. He is also one of the top fighters in the promotion who hold multiple world title belts.

Anatoly Malykhin sees a possible career as a commentator in the future

While he is still very much focused on competing in the Circle, Anatoly Malykhin has already given his post-fighting career some thought. It includes doing television commentary work for ONE Championship.

He spoke about it in an interview with the promotion, making known that he is open to working as a commentator for the organization if an opportunity opens up down the line.

Malykhin said:

"I think I’d be good as a commentator. Especially for fights. I feel like it’s something I’d do well. It would be great if ONE Championship ever gave me a chance to commentate a few events for the Russian-speaking audience."
