Bibiano Fernandes isn’t a former multiple-world champion for nothing. He takes care of business with the same core mindset - and one of them doesn’t entail predicting the outcome of his fights.

‘The Flash’ makes his long-awaited return to the circle this Friday, November 18 to face Filipino rising star ‘The Sniper’ Stephen Loman, in what could be a potential world title eliminator bout for the bantamweight belt. The event is free with a Prime Video subscription.

Bringing along an impressive resume, the Brazilian veteran is excited to let his actions do the talking. Like his counterpart Stephen Loman, Fernandes doesn’t like to make predictions in his own fights.

However, he goes into each new match with the same mentality as he always does - with conviction and humility.

In an exclusive interview with The MMA Superfan, the 42-year-old slugger said:

“I don’t like to predict fights, because a fight is a fight, right? I want only to show up and give it my best. I want to give him my best in this fight. I want to feel good, healthy, and strong. That’s it. The fight comes, whatever he wants to do.”

Based on his recent performance with John Lineker at ONE: Lights Out, Fernandes knows there’s nothing predictable about fighting in mixed martial arts.

In his last outing, Fernandes had his moments against Lineker. He found some success in his grappling, trying to take the fight to the ground to avoid trading with Lineker on the feet.

Seeing a small window of opportunity to strike with the challenger, Fernandes stunned Lineker with a solid right overhand before Lineker reversed a takedown to recover.

However, after a heroic attempt to throw hands with Lineker, Fernandes ultimately met his end with a two-punch combination from the Brazilian in the second round.

Moving forward into his next big matchup with Loman, Bibiano Fernandes said he’s not focused on winning or losing as much as he’s focused on giving his 100% to this fight.

Bibiano Fernandes would be comfortable striking and wrestling with Stephen Loman

Bibiano Fernandes has Stephen Loman all figured out.

The former bantamweight king is coming in with a tactical game plan but will rely on his experience to help him gauge where he wants the fight to go.

Utilizing his greatest weapons, Fernandes believes he will really challenge Loman’s all-encompassing skillset.

He told ONE Championship:

“I’m going to test his grappling, his wrestling, and his striking. I’m sure I’ll have a good fight against him. If he messes up, I’ll finish him.”

Catch Bibiano Fernandes vs. Stephan Loman on Friday, November 18 at ONE on Prime Video 4. The event will be broadcast live and for free to North American audiences with a prime video subscription.
