Moroccan Muay Thai fighter Elmehdi El Jamari is confident of being able to handle the height disadvantage he has in his scheduled match this weekend. He is banking on what he touts as his experience against taller opponents.
'The Sniper' will battle Malaysian-Thai fighter Aliff Sor Dechapan in a featured strawweight Muay Thai match at ONE Fight Night 32: Nakrob vs. Jaosuayai on Prime Video on June 6. He is surrendering a three-inch height disadvantage to his opponent in the fight night showcase happening at the famed Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
In an interview with ONE Championship ahead of the fight at hand, El Jamari shared his thoughts on it, citing how there is nothing that Aliff presents that he has not seen before.

“I fought a tall fighter who is similar to Aliff in WBC. I think he was even taller than him, if I’m not mistaken. I have a history of facing fighters that are much taller than I am. I have more than 120 amateur fights and 28 professional fights."
Elmehdi El Jamari is out to build on his successful ONE Championship debut when he takes the ring at ONE Fight Night 32. He had his maiden outing in the promotion last April, knocking out Thai Thongpoon PK Saenchai in the opening round of their strawweight Muay Thai battle.
Also providing added motivation for him is the opportunity to avenge the KO loss his older brother, Zakaria, absorbed at the hands of 21-year-old Aliff in August last year.

Elmehdi El Jamari is also banking on his crisp technical skills against Aliff
Apart from experience, another facet of Elmehdi El Jamari's game that he is banking on is his technical skills. In particular, he sees his good sense of timing as coming into play as he tries to come up with a win over the taller Aliff Sor Dechapan at ONE Fight Night 32.
He spoke about it in the same interview with ONE Championship, saying:
"When I face a taller opponent, I may make slight changes to my game plan, especially to my timing, but I wouldn't say that I make major changes."
At ONE Fight Night 32, Elmehdi El Jamari is up against an opponent in Aliff who not only has a height advantage, but also coming into the contest riding a three-fight winning streak.
