The world's best combat sports athletes have found themselves in back-and-forth firefights throughout their careers and Liam Harrison has had many of his own. During an interview with the South China Morning Post, 'Hitman' looked back on his violent war with Japanese kickboxing star Masaaki Noiri in May 2013.

The Englishman said:

"When we fought, we were [going toe-to-toe, barely giving any space]. And because he's so tall, he just lifted his knee up and kneed me straight. And I thought what was that, was that his leg? And you can see it in the film as well. His leg just came around and kneed me and then I just felt all the blood falling down on my face."

It should be noted at this point that Noiri will be making his ONE Championship debut at ONE 167 on June 7. He will face Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong in a featherweight kickboxing tie that many expect to be a barnburner of a matchup.

As for Harrison, he will have his 119th career bout on the same fight card against Noiri's fellow countryman, Katsuki Kitano, in a bantamweight Muay Thai bout.

Liam Harrison foresees another drawn-out war in his illustrious career

At 38 years old, Liam Harrison has shown time and time again that he has no fear and will look to prove it once more inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand against Kitano.

Speaking with talkSPORT MMA, here is what the Bad Company slugger said about his upcoming matchup with Kitano of Japan:

"I'm just going to press forward and make it as exciting for the fans as I can because I enjoy fighting like that. I enjoy getting into wars and I know the fans enjoy it."

ONE 167 will air live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
