Conor McGregor is picking fights with YouTubers. Not that he ever shied away from picking fights with anybody.
During an appearance at the BKFC on DAZN: Tenaglia vs Soto media day, 'The Notorious' was asked by a member of the press about his on-again-off-again online beef with English YouTuber/boxer KSI (real name JJ Olatunji). The brash Irishman was asked if he'd ever fight KSI, to which he answered:
"Let's go, man. I'll fight him for that bullsh*t song he released alone. I'll fight him for that f*cking song alone."

KSI released a new single, "Thick Of It," just four days ago. Since uploading the lyric video on YouTube, the song has racked up nearly three million views/listens. If there's any similarity between McGregor and KSI, it's the fact that whatever they say or do in front of the camera, people will be eager to watch and listen. Their pulling power when it comes to audience response is quite legendary.
As far as fighting skills and records, however, the two are at the opposite ends of the spectrum. McGregor is a two-division UFC world champion with an MMA record of 22-6 with 18 KOs. He also fought Floyd Mayweather Jr. to a 10th-round TKO loss in his first pro boxing fight.
As for KSI, he has a boxing record of 4-1, with all his opponents being of the YouTube influencer variety.
Conor McGregor vs. KSI online beef revisited
Perhaps the most notable chapter of the Conor McGregor-KSI saga was when the English influencer was scheduled to face the Irish superstar's jiu jitsu coach, Dillon Danis, in a boxing match in 2022. The two traded bards on X, with 'The Notorious' vehemently supporting his former sparring mate.
KSI tweeted to McGregor:
"I’m sorry but I’m about do some serious damage to your boy"
McGregor replied with:
"Brother you’re a friendly little nerd I don’t care. He should be back doing mma if he is doing this little nothing burger match with you. I couldn’t care less about this genre of boxing, I am sorry. Have a good one."
Much hype was created around the KSI-Dillon Danis bout, yet it was ultimately scrapped due to Danis' removal. The jiu jitsu blackbelt cited a lack of preparation and coaching staff as the reason for pulling out. KSI then faced and knocked out replacement fighter FaZe Clan, another fellow YouTuber.
