Jarred Brooks is looking to make an immediate impact in the flyweight MMA division when he moves up for the first time. The interim ONE strawweight world champion hasn't made this decision just to pass the time.
He is still waiting for strawweight kingpin Joshua Pacio to return from injury so they can settle their trilogy. But in the mean time, 'The Monkey God' has set his sights on a new goal.
Brooks can look to establish himself as a top contender at flyweight by taking out a staple of the division in Reece McLaren. The two competitors are set to meet at ONE Fight Night 26 on Dec. 6 in a fight that could have big implications at the top of the division.
Aside from his one disqualification loss at ONE 166: Qatar earlier this year, Brooks has been perfect in the strawweight division and has finished two of his four wins via submission.

In a fight week interview with the Bangkok Post, Jarred Brooks issued a warning to McLaren that he's coming to earn his third finish under the ONE banner at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand:
"So Reece, I wish you nothing but the best bro but on Saturday, I'm coming for you f***ing neck."

Jarred Brooks is full of confidence heading into Dec. 6 matchup
Jarred Brooks was left incredibly frustrated and disappointed by what happened in his rematch with Joshua Pacio in March. In his last outing at ONE Fight Night 24, he was able to put that disappointment behind him by submitting Gustavo Balart to win the interim world title.
With his confidence restored, he's moving up to the flyweight division as a contender that is used to winning. He may be a new arrival in and around these contenders, but he's already proven his ability as an elite mixed martial artist.
ONE Fight Night 26 will be available to all active Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America.
