Danial Williams and Jeremy Miado are two of the hardest-hitting 125-pound fighters in ONE Championship and the match between the two should deliver nothing but fireworks.

The two strawweight contenders are set to duel in the main card of ONE on Prime Video 3: Lineker vs. Andrade on October 21 at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur.

Williams, the No.5-ranked strawweight contender, said in an interview with ONE Championship that he’s fully aware of just how dangerous Miado’s striking is. Nevertheless, the Australian-Thai star believes his extensive background in Muay Thai and kickboxing will give him the advantage in the match.

Danial Williams said:

“Miado comes in hard, so I’m definitely going to tuck my chin in because I’m well aware of his KO power. I’m not going to take too many risks when it comes to brawling with him.”

He added:

“But I believe my power, speed, angles, and mobility will be my advantages against him. And I just feel that I’m going to be a little bit difficult for him because he’s never really fought a striker who can move like me. He’s a bit linear, straight-lined, and can be predictable with his shots. That’ll be his weakness that I want to exploit with my movement.”

Williams started his ONE Championship career as a Muay Thai artist and faced ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon in his debut fight in the promotion at ONE on TNT I in April 2021. Despite losing that fight, Williams displayed a tenacious heart in his brawl against the Thai superstar.

Since that Muay Thai fight against Rodtang, ‘Mini T’ transitioned to MMA and is now on a three-fight winning streak that culminated in a first-round knockout of Zelang Zhaxi at ONE 159 this past July.

Miado, meanwhile, is also on a three-fight winning run with all of those wins ending in a knockout.

Danial Williams has all the respect for Miado

Although Danial Williams has faced absolute beasts in the Circle, he believes that Miado will be his most difficult challenge in MMA.

Williams’ first MMA fight inside the Circle was against Thai legend Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke yet he showed just how dangerous he is when he took the second-round knockout win.

Yet, it’s Miado whom Danial Williams seems to be wary of since the Filipino star is the former no.5 strawweight contender. Williams, however, took that spot after he finished off Zelang in their fight in Singapore.

“I love Jeremy Miado as a fighter. He’s exciting to watch, he’s got some good wins behind him against some really notable opponents. So, I’m not taking him lightly at all. He’s a good challenge."

He added:

“He’s a former ranked guy for a reason, and I believe he’s better than anyone I’ve ever faced in MMA in ONE. I really look up to him.”
