Haggerty started his ONE Championship tenure with three consecutive knockouts in the strawweight Muay Thai division, proving he's a prospect to keep an eye on.

The 20-year-old striker has massive expectations because he's the younger brother of Jonathan Haggerty, the reigning ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion and former bantamweight Muay Thai world champion.

While speaking to the South China Morning Post, Freddie had this to say about separating himself from Jonathan:

"People know that I'm not just here because I'm my brother's brother, and I'm getting that boost up. I'm here. I want to fight. I want to prove myself and show how much it means to me."

Freddie Haggerty's undefeated run in ONE Championship ended in January due to a unanimous decision loss against Jordan Estupinan.

Haggerty's lone promotional defeat was in the flyweight division, leading to him announcing a return to strawweight later this year.

Freddie Haggerty claims he would accept flyweight fight against Johan Ghazali

Freddie Haggerty is focused on returning to the win column with a strawweight bout next time out. Yet, the 20-year-old already has a path back to flyweight, as he's established a rivalry with 19-year-old prospect Johan Ghazali.

During the previously mentioned interview with the South China Morning Post, Haggerty had this to say about Ghazali accusing him of avoiding the matchup between them:

"His theory is delusional, and that is the truth. If ONE comes to me, said if I wanted to fight Johan, I would say, yes, like there was no tomorrow. I done a post because I see it myself. I see it, and I said, I don't fear no one that bleeds the same as I do. And that's God's honest truth."

Firstly, Johan Ghazali is focused on defeating Diego Paez at Friday's ONE Fight Night 32. The 19-year-old phenom is coming off a loss against Johan Estupinan, dropping his promotional record to 6-2, five wins by knockout.

With a win against Paez, Ghazali could aim for a fight against Freddie Haggerty later this year.
