“If the mood is right” - Russian destroyer Anatoly Malykhin reveals he jams to rap and classical music in training

Reigning and undisputed ONE light heavyweight and middleweight MMA world champion 'Sladkiy' Anatoly Malykhin of Russia is hard at work, preparing for his eventual return to the Circle.

Deep in training, the 37-year-old Kemerovo native is vibing to his favorite tunes to keep himself motivated.

Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Malykhin revealed the kind of music he loves listening to while hitting the pads.

'Sladkiy' told the world's largest martial arts organization:

"I like a mix. I can listen to Beethoven and classical music, I enjoy the violin, and I also love rap. So yeah — no single favorite genre."

Malykhin added:

"Rap. I love training to rap. But I can even hit the bag to the violin if the mood is right."

It appears Malykhin's musical preferences are just as diverse as his skill set, quite fittingly.

The Golden Team representative's unique brand of violence in the cage certainly sets the precedent for his taste in the arts.

While 'Sladkiy' Anatoly Malykhin's taste in music is no doubt diverse, he does have a few specific go-tos on his playlist.

The 37-year-old Russian mauler told ONE Championship:

"I listen to almost everything. I really like Eminem — I train to his music a lot. I used to be into Linkin Park, and I still listen to them sometimes. From Russian artists — I like Grot. And I’m a fan of music from the ’90s in general."

Malykhin is looking to return to action sometime later this year for a shot at reclaiming the heavyweight MMA throne.
