Jamahal Hill wants to face Jiri Prochazka after defeating Glover Teixeira at UFC 283

Jamahal Hill will face Glover Teixeira for the vacant UFC light heavyweight title this weekend.

Teixeira was initially set to fight then-champion Jiri Prochazka at UFC 282. But Prochazka suffered a severe shoulder injury and pulled out of the fight, as well as vacating the title ahead of a long recovery period.

A short-notice title fight was organized between Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev, who headlined UFC 282 instead. The fight resulted in a split draw, forcing the UFC to schedule Teixeira vs. Hill at UFC 283 the following month.

With this weekend's main event fast approaching, Hill appeared in front of the media and was asked if he had an opponent in mind should he win the title. 'Sweet Dreams' mentioned Prochazka's name, saying:

"It's not a secret I've been calling for Jiri for years. I've been wanting Jiri for years... I want that fight. He's saying he could be back as early as like six months or summer. I'll wait for that, or next man up."
