"It exposed his chin" - Jake Paul points out Anderson Silva's mistake that led to the 8th round knockdown

Jake Paul recently provided an in-depth breakdown of his fight-securing knockdown against UFC legend Anderson Silva.

Heading into the eighth and final round, many believe that Paul and Silva were close on the judges' scorecards. However, Paul eliminated any doubt that he was the victor by sending Silva to the canvas with a counter right hand.

Needless to say, knocking down an elite striker will go down as one of the biggest highlights of Paul's pro-boxing career. So it's not surprising that 'The Problem Child' isn't going to play the moment down.

During a recent episode of his BS w/ Jake Paul podcast, the YouTuber-turned-celebrity boxer provided his analysis on the fight. The 25-year-old revealed that the highlight was purely a result of timing as he had blasted Silva with harder shots than the one that dropped him:

"The eighth-round knockdown, we were just fighting in the clinch, swinging hard. We were throwing with nasty intentions. He was standing up which is where he made a mistake 'cause it exposed his chin like this. And I was just coming around with the right at the perfect time. What's weird though is I was hitting him with harder shots than that one. That just was the timing. Caught him off guard, he didn't see it coming."

Jake Paul admits that Anderson Silva fight tanked in PPV sales

Jake Paul has admitted that his boxing showdown against Anderson Silva didn't necessarily do well in pay-per-view sales.

The event only raked in around 300,00 buys, which was lower than expected. However, 'The Problem Child' doesn't necessarily think people are uninterested in watching the fight.

So what went wrong? According to Paul, Silva's comments before the fight may have hurt their sales:

"The pre-buys were going crazy," he said on the IMPAULSIVE podcast. "On Wednesday, when the news came out about Anderson saying he got knocked out [in sparring] or whatever, the fight was in jeopardy and all this press came out, the pre-buys tanked."

A few days before the fight, Silva said that he got knocked out twice in practice, which led some to believe that the fight might not push through. On top of that, Paul's past few scheduled opponents – Tommy Fury and Hasim Rahman Jr. – pulled out of their bouts, which Paul thinks may have spooked potential PPV buyers.
