Former ONE strawweight kickboxing world champion Jonathan Di Bella of Canada and Italy can't wait to get his world title back, after losing the belt earlier this year to Thai star Prajanchai PK Saenchai.
But once he regains world championship status, Di Bella wants to take his career to the next level, and he hopes ONE Championship will help him make history.
In a recent interview with Combat Sports Today, Di Bella was asked what his dream venue to defend a world title would be, and the 28-year-old Canadian-Italian star had one simple answer.
"Yeah, I fought [at Madison Square Garden] already like five times in the small theater. And then I want to fight, for sure, one day in the big arena. It'll be crazy, man. I don't know whether you know, but the Garden has like a high level and then there’s like the main room and then the room right under, I fought in the room right under."
Madison Square Garden is one of the most iconic arenas for combat sports in history, with many big-ticket boxing matches having been held there through the last few decades.
Di Bella thinks it will be absolutely massive for ONE Championship to take its product to New York in its most prestigious stadium.
