Jonathan Haggerty is proud to represent his home country each and every time that he makes the walk in ONE Championship.
Fighting out of England comes with some disadvantages when you're going up against Thai strikers who have hundreds of bouts under their belts, but 'The General' wouldn't change that.
Alongside others who came before him like Liam Harrison, Haggerty is one of the best examples for fighters from the same region as him.
The British striker has been at the top for many years and as a result, you're already seeing the next wave of exciting strikers emerge alongside him.
ONE Championship may be yet to host an event on English shores but they certainly have the depth in talent and star power to do so.
In a recent podcast interview on the Winners Talking Podcast, Jonathan Haggerty spoke about the strength of the UK scene.
One of the fighters in question is his own brother, Freddie Haggerty, who has hit the ground running in ONE Championship:

Jonathan Haggerty can set an example for the next generation
There are sure to be fighters who were already applying themselves to the striking arts when they were inspired by Jonathan Haggerty.
Whether it was his two instant classics against Rodtang Jitmuangnon or his flyweight Muay Thai world championship win when he dethroned the legendary Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, the Englishman has produced some incredible moments during his time in ONE.
His latest outing was a difficult setback as he was stopped by Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 168: Denver in September.
Bouncing back from this adversity after headlining a huge card in the United States is exactly what will inspire others to follow in his footsteps.
