Michael Bisping claims Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva fight did moderately well despite generating 'disappointing' PPV numbers: "That's a lot of households to part ways with their money"

Michael Bisping recently explained why the reported pay-per-view buys of the Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva card are better than they seem.

According to 'The Problem Child', the card did between 200,000 and 300,000 buys, which he called "upsetting."

Jake Paul joined his brother Logan's podcast, IMPAULSIVE, to discuss the fight. 'The Problem Child' claimed that the news of Anderson Silva getting knocked out in training, which surfaced days before the fight, was the reason the pay-per-view buys were lower than expected.

Whilst discussing the numbers on his podcast, Believe You Me, Michael Bisping felt that 300,000 buys is plenty. 'The Count' pointed to Conor McGregor's pay-per-views, which regularly do over a million buys, as being "ridiculous" and not the proper yardstick. He stated that the reported numbers for the Paul-Silva clash were "not too bad":

"You know you hear of one million PPV buys, or McGregor gets these ridiculous numbers. Those are ridiculous numbers. You see articles writing, 'Oh this PPV bombed, it only did 450,000 buys.' That's a lot of people. That's a lot of households to part ways with their money. So if it is 300,000 [buys], that's not too bad."

Michael Bisping further explained that compared to the biggest names in boxing, Paul vs. Silva performed equally as well.

'The Count' and his co-host, Mike Harrington, pointed out that the first fight between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder produced 320,000 pay-per-view buys.

Michael Bisping recently admitted that he was wrong about the outcome of the Jake Paul and Anderson Silva fight.

'The Count' had predicted that 'The Spider' would be able to knock 'The Problem Child' out. However, Paul was able to secure a unanimous decision victory and was even able to drop the Brazilian in the last round, which all but secured the result for him.

Whilst reflecting on the fight on his YouTube channel, Bisping stated that he was wrong to doubt the Cleveland native:

"I will hold my hand up. I was wrong. I was incorrect. I didn't give Jake Paul enough credit. I went out there and said that Anderson Silva will knock out Jake Paul. He will flatline him, he will leave him face-first, unconscious, on the canvas."
