Undefeated IBF welterweight world champion Jaron Ennis is set to have a new opponent in David Avanesyan after his original foe, fellow undefeated Canadian Cody Crowley, pulled out due to a retina issue. The fight, which will be for Ennis' belt, will take place at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA, on July 13.
On April 24, ESPN's Mike Coppinger reported that Eddie Hearn's Matchroom promotions won the purse bid for the Ennis-Crowley bout, which was for $3.9 million. According to the rules of IBF, the champion will nab 85% of the purse while the challenger will get 15%.
This means Ennis' projected purse will be $3.315 million. As for Avanesyan, it could be assumed that he'll get the same amount allotted for Crowley, meaning he will bag approximately $585,000.
Very little is known about Avanesyan's previous purses, although according to Playerswiki, the Russian's net worth is at $1 million.
