Joe Rogan issued an apology after reading fake tweets related to COVID on a recent episode of his JRE podcast.

Rogan received plenty of backlash after from his discussion related to the tweet and addressed why it was included in the uploaded version of the episode. Since his podcast isn't streamed live, it's understandable why viewers and listeners would be upset about it still being included. He mentioned why the tweet was still included and later edited out of the episode, writing:

"I was informed last night that this tweet is fake. The show was already out, so we initially decided to post a notice saying we got tricked, then later thought it best to just delete it from the episode. My sincere apologies to everyone, especially the person who got hoaxed."

The UFC commentator received plenty of comments and one in particular from medical doctor Tyler Black, asking him to fact-check when discussing topics like COVID and evaluating whether a tweet is from a trusted source, writing:

"Hi Joe, have you given any consideration to how you are so easily mislead? The tweet was longer than 240 characters and the date at the bottom was wrongly formatted. Basic due diligence and fact checking would have prevented this. You could hire fact checkers." - {@tylerblack32}

Black added that he believes the the JRE host has fallen for hoaxes in the past, which should be another reason why he hires fact checkers, writing:

"This wasn't his first mistake doing this. He falls for hoaxes quite a bit. He probably with his audience has a greater responsibility to get it right."

Rogan will have to be more cautious when using untrusted sources when discussing topics on certain topics because of his platform, and it will help avoid situations where he feels the need to address something and apologize for errors in an episode after it's uploaded.

Joe Rogan tells David Portnoy that he thinks Paddy Pimblett lost at UFC 281

Joe Rogan was recently joined by Barstool founder David Portnoy on episode #1920 of his JRE podcast, where they spoke about Paddy Pimblett's controversial win against Jared Gordon.

While speaking about 'The Baddy's win, Portnoy brought up that the UFC commentator rolled his eyes when the decision was announced. He didn't deny it and mentioned that he believed Gordon should have been awarded the decision, saying:

"(Paddy Pimblett) Shouldn't had won...I thought Jared Gordon won that fight, but it was a good fight. It certainly wasn't a blowout. It wasn't one of those fights where there's no fu**in way, it was a close fight." {0:04 - 0:19}
