Joe Rogan will not be attending UFC 280 next weekend in Abu Dhabi, but there is no doubt he will be watching the main event between Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev. The color commentator once gave his take on why Oliveira's fighting style is so captivating.

'Do Bronx' will take on Makhachev in one of the most anticipated matchups of the year. Oliveira comes into the bout on an 11-fight win streak and Makhachev is himself on a 10-fight win streak.

In the past 17 months, The Brazilian has featured in three enthralling lightweight title fights against Michael Chandler, Dustin Poirier, and Justin Gaethje. All his opponents were ranked in the division's top five, and the Brazilian was able to finish each one of them inside three rounds.

Joe Rogan was in attendance for all of these fights. In a previous episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the podcast host spoke to his friend Cameron Hanes about how remarkable it is to watch 'do Bronx' fight:

"Here's what's interesting about Charles Oliveira... when Charles Oliveira fights, even though he's the champion, he fights like a berserker. He puts himself in danger, like he doesn't fight safe. He doesn't fight to try to outpoint you. He doesn't fight tactically, like where he's trying to get the least amount of damage and drag you into deep water."

Charles Oliveira was hurt on the feet by all three of the aforementioned opponents before fighting back to win those bouts. The tenacity and ferociousness that 'do Bronx' marches forward with is what Joe Rogan believes makes him so successful.

Joe Rogan says that you "can't count Charles Oliveira out"

Joe Rogan was joined by Eddie Bravo and Brendan Schaub for a recent Fight Companion on the comedian's podcast, where the three discussed the UFC 280 main event.

Schaub stated that to be the champion at 145lbs, 155lbs or 170lbs, you have to know how to wrestle. However, Rogan then brought up the deadly Brazilian jiu-jitsu skills that Charles Oliveira possesses:

"Or you have to be like Oliveira, like 'Good luck, take me down, I'll f***ing strangle you off my back.' You can't count Oliveira out against anyone. Something happened to him... it's the birth of his daughter. And that when his kid was born, he just changed everything. Just became this ferocious, savage f***ing assassin in there."
