Joe Rogan and Gordon Ryan discuss no-time-limit fights for MMA

Joe Rogan and no-gi BJJ great Gordon Ryan recently discussed what it would be like if the UFC had to go back to its no-time-limit rule.

During a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the host and his guest Gordon Ryan discussed a variety of topics, including Ryan's career with King's BJJ and his recently published book. At one point, Rogan brought up Ryan's no-time-limit match with Felipe Pena and speculated about the potential of introducing this rule into MMA.

While hosting a match with such a rule may not be ideal for spectators, Rogan believes it will help determine who is the best in the game.

Putting forth his reasoning behind introducing a no-time-limit fight in MMA, Joe Rogan said:

"It's not the way for spectators, but it is the way, as you said, to determine who is the best. And I think that's supposedly what jiu-jitsu is all about."

Rogan additionally pointed out that the UFC, in its early days, held bouts with no time limit and believes these were the "most authentic" type of martial arts competition:

"The early days of the UFC, there is no time limits. It was just like who wins. And that's the purest form of any martial art."

Joe Rogan points out huge scams going on under the hood of charities and non-profit organizations

Rogan recently stated that he is not a fan of charities and non-profits, citing their lack of transparency and accountability. He also expressed his belief that the money donated to these organizations often does not reach those in need.

Sharing his opinion on episode #1920 of his podcast, Rogan said:

"Charities bother me when I find out that the people behind them are making millions of dollars. That is scary. That freaks me out... There's just too much overhead... There's a list of charities that you can find online where you can see what their overhead is and how much money actually gets to the people, and it's a very small percentage."
