In a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast featuring Grammy-winning record producer Scott Storch, Joe Rogan provided some insights on the outcome of the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight. Just over a week ago, the YouTuber-turned-boxer beat the 58-year-old boxing legend via unanimous decision after eight rounds.
The bout was heavily criticized for not living up to the hype, with some even accusing the two of staging the fight as Paul appeared to have been pulling his punches. While this rubbed some people the wrong way, others, like Rogan, were just relieved that Tyson wasn't seriously hurt, considering his old age:
"I'm glad he [Tyson] got through that fight and didn't get hurt. I was hoping that he would knock Jake Paul out [laughs] just because that's the Cinderella story. I don't have anything against Jake Paul. I like Jake Paul. I think what he's doing is genius. I mean, he's making insane amounts of money, he's having a great f*cking time, [and] he's a legit boxer, he's absolutely a legit boxer."

Joe Rogan and Scott Storch talk about Mike Tyson
Joe Rogan admitted that the reality of Mike Tyson's age made him worry. Scott Storch also mentioned that he's a close friend to Tyson, sharing the same kind of demons the boxing legend has had in the past, particularly dealing with fame and drug addiction.
Storch said:
"I talk to him [Tyson] like, pretty deep conversations. He actually checks on me like, 'Yo, you good?' and I do the same. And my friend Rick. He's a beautiful person." [1:14:37]
Rogan added:
"He really is, man. For a guy who's the most terrifying fighter of all time, he's a really nice guy to be around [with]."
Tyson is considered one of the greatest boxers to have ever lived, terrorizing the heavyweight division from the 1980s up to the early 2000s. His ferocity in the ring and intense personality outside of it have earned him the moniker 'The Baddest Man on the Planet'.
After numerous troubles in and out of the ring, including incarcerations, drug abuse, and massive debts, Tyson turned for the better in the late 2000s. The wonders of cannabis and psychedelics helped the once-broken man become a kind and giving soul. The former heavyweight champion now spends most of his time preaching and helping younger people and just having a good time with his loved ones.
