Looking at the path that John Lineker charted in his successful mixed martial arts career, one can say that he likes to take risks.

A veteran of many promotions both in Brazil and abroad in nearly two decades of doing MMA, the fighter known as ‘Hands of Stone’ has never failed to leave his mark on each stop, thanks to his go-getter mindset.

John Lineker recently posted a photo on Instagram, captioned with a famous quote from sports icon Muhammad Ali, which captures the manner with which he has steered his career to date and how he intends to do so moving forward.

The caption when translated reads:

"He who does not have the courage to take risks will accomplish nothing in life. Muhammad Ali”

John Lineker returns to action at ONE Fight Night 7 on February 24 at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, where he will try to regain the bantamweight world title stripped from him in his previous fight. It will be a rematch with fellow Brazilian Fabricio ‘Wonder Boy’ Andrade.

The two top bantamweights first met in October last year at ONE on Prime Video 3. John Lineker, however, was unable to make weight and was subsequently stripped of the world title just before their match. The fight still went ahead, with Andrade being the only eligible fighter to win the belt in the event of a win.

However, as fate would have it, the match ended in a no-contest after John Lineker was ruled unable to continue at the 2:44 mark of the third round after absorbing an accidental strike to the groin from Andrade.

Both fighters are now gearing up to resolve their unfinished business at ONE Fight Night 7 which is going to be live and free for North American fans with an active Amazon Prime subscription.

“Open doors in yet another market” - John Lineker pumped about ONE Championship’s partnership with Globo in South America

Having spent time parading his wares in different promotions and tournaments in his home country of Brazil, John Lineker is excited about the multi-year broadcast deal that ONE Championship signed with Globo’s Combate.

The agreement with Combate, Globo’s leading provider of premium combat sports content and pay-per-views in Brazil, begins this month and will see 12 ONE events broadcast in primetime across the country annually.

Lineker believes the deal is a win-win situation for both Brazilian athletes and fans as well as ONE.

He told the promotion in an interview:

“This partnership will certainly be good not only for Brazilian fighters, but also for ONE, as the event will open doors in yet another market and grow even more. With this partnership with Combate, fans will be able to follow more. And Brazilian fighters will have more visibility and opportunity with the arrival of ONE in Combate.”

Through the deal with Combate, Brazilian fans will see Lineker fight Fabricio Andrade for the vacant ONE bantamweight world title on February 24.
