ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion and Muay Thai athlete Jonathan Haggerty credited British striking legend Liam Harrison for opening the door for their compatriots to compete in Muay Thai around the world.
Appearing as a guest on the Winners Talking Podcast, 'The General' and the hosts agreed that Harrison is one of the most recognizable Muay Thai athletes to have ever emerged from the United Kingdom.
Haggerty gave his longtime rival his well-deserved flowers, saying:
"He fought all the best of the best, that's why I feel sort of, not sorry, but I feel for them a little bit that ONE Championship wasn't around when they were fighting."

Some fans may be surprised to hear Jonathan Haggerty speak positively about Harrison because of their public feud over the past few years.
However, the 39-year-old legend's long resume of electrifying fights throughout his career, including six bouts under the ONE banner, was something that even Haggerty could not deny.
Jonathan Haggerty comments on why he never fought Liam Harrison in ONE
Because of how heated their rivalry got, many fans expected Jonathan Haggerty and Liam Harrison to settle their differences inside the circle, but it never came to be.
In the same appearance on the Winners Talking Podcast, Haggerty offered his thoughts on why they never fought:
"We never really crossed paths, you know, because he was always a heavier weight. In the UK, I was fighting at 57-59 kilos, he was fighting at 65. And in ONE Championship, he was having his fights. I was at 61 and he was at 65 [kilos]. But he's sorta at the back end of his career. And I don't think he wanted to take that chance. I was a young and up-and-coming fighter, doesn't make sense."
