Jordan Leavitt reacts to knockout victory at UFC Fight Night: Krylov vs. Spann

One fight removed from his submission loss to Paddy Pimblett, Jordan Leavitt just put on a performance to remember and collected a knockout victory for his troubles at UFC Fight Night: Krylov vs. Spann earlier tonight.

'The Monkey King' was 2-2 in his last four coming into his fight against Victor Martinez on February 25 but managed to put himself back into the winners' column with an impressive stoppage. The lightweight can now look towards putting together another run of wins and trying to force his way into the 155lb rankings.

Directly after earning a stoppage victory at UFC Fight Night: Krylov vs. Spann, Jordan Leavitt took to the mic to announce his delight at the improvements he has made in his striking, saying:

"I'm so happy. I always say I can strike a little bit. I started a little slow but I came out to land that knee up the middle. I'm so glad, he's on a winning streak. I was really worried about this fight, I'm glad I got the win this time... I have never rocked someone before. I hit him to the body, I think that hurt him initially, then the knee hit him, then he kind of stalled, a little bit of a lag and I was like, 'Oh crap, I'm gonna get a knockout.' I've never done that before besides a slam, that's not really a real knockout."

This was Leavitt's first 'real' KO victory in his 13-fight mixed martial arts career, but in his UFC debut back in late 2020, the 155er got off to a great start with the company after landing a slam finish of Matt Wiman just 22-seconds into the fight.

Following a two-fight win streak, Jordan Leavitt was awarded his biggest career fight to date when he stepped in against Paddy Pimblett on a monumental UFC London card last year.

After coming up short and losing by submission midway through the second round, the young lightweight bounced straight back and got the aforementioned knockout win over Victor Martinez.

As he is 3-1 in his last four bouts and with the 155lb division being arguably the most stacked in the sport, Leavitt has likely put himself in pole position for another big-name matchup.
